Who we are
MedAppReview is a physician-led advising team composed of medical students, residents, and physicians with direct experience navigating the medical school admissions process at the highest level.
Our approach is intentionally selective and highly personalized. Clients work directly with a primary advisor while benefiting from additional review by multiple medical professionals across specialties. Each application is evaluated from the perspectives of a medical student, a resident, and a physician, reflecting how real admissions committees assess candidates.
We focus on strategic positioning rather than surface-level editing. Our goal is to help applicants present a cohesive, compelling narrative that accurately reflects their experiences and maximizes their competitiveness at top medical schools.
Meet the Founders
Nathan Aminpour, MD is a general surgery resident at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center and the founder of MedAppReview. Dr. Aminpour earned his Doctor of Medicine from Georgetown University School of Medicine, where he also completed a Master’s degree in Physiology. Prior to medical school, he attended the University of California, Berkeley, graduating with dual degrees in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business and Molecular and Cell Biology with a concentration in Genetics.
Before entering medicine, Dr. Aminpour worked in biotechnology at a genomics startup focused on improving access to clinical trials for late stage cancer patients. This experience shaped his understanding of healthcare innovation, systems level barriers, and the importance of mentorship and access at every stage of training.
Having personally navigated the financial, academic, and emotional demands of medical training, Dr. Aminpour founded this program with a commitment to practical, honest, and individualized guidance. The mission is simple: to help motivated students access high quality advising grounded in real experience and a clear understanding of the challenges applicants face today.
